A little bit about me and this blog.

Hi!
My name is Lizzie Powell. I'm 43 years old and looking for adventure!

Here's where I give you a little background info about me and where I'm coming from and why I'm creating this blog.

My main job is working in a soft drinks factory where the work is very repetitive and on occasions very boring too. However, it has been a good place to work and the salary has allowed me to achieve a huge personal goal to pay my mortgage off as fast as possible.

My, hopefully to be, second job is to run my own design business called Drop the Weasel (look up the Drop the Weasel Facebook page and say hi). This has now become my next big goal to achieve and I'm worked on it as I type! As you can tell, I'm a goal setter and I like to throw myself the odd challenge now and then to see what can be achieved if I put my mind to it.

I live in a place called the Forest of Dean in the UK, which is where I grew up along with my 3 sisters and my parents, all somehow fitting into a small council house. The area where I live is a peaceful place but I wouldn't say it's the hub of adventure and excitement for sure.

That's where this blog comes in. This year (2014) I managed to hit my personal goal to pay off my mortgage 15 years early allowing me to have more disposable income to do the things I've always wanted to do. This blog is going to be my journal where I'll be recording all my adventures and giving you details of where you can do them too. I'll also be giving a little review on each one saying what I loved or didn't love about the experience.

My adventures will fall into 4 categories:
Adventures that take me out of my comfort zone.
Adventures that enlighten and educate me in some way.
Adventures that are for my own well being (mentally of physically).
Adventures that are just for fun!
